Our Process
From idea to finished piece, here’s what working with Alchemical Woodcraft looks like.

Every custom project begins with an idea. The process of turning that idea into a finished piece involves careful planning, quality materials, and attention to detail.
Whether you’re looking for a fireplace mantel, floating shelves, or a custom wood project, the goal is always the same — to create something that fits your space and lasts for years to come.
Step 1 – Initial Conversation
The process begins with a conversation about your project. This can start through the quote request form, email, or phone.
We’ll discuss what you’re looking for, the space where the piece will be installed, and any ideas or inspiration you already have.
⸻
Step 2 – Project Review
For many projects, an in-person visit helps ensure everything is measured correctly and that the design fits the space.
During this step we review the installation area, discuss materials and design options, and answer any questions about the project.
⸻
Step 3 – Design and Material Selection
Once the details of the project are clear, we finalize the size, wood species, and finish.
Every piece of wood has its own grain, character, and natural variation, which makes each project unique.
⸻
Step 4 – Crafting the Piece
The project is then built in the workshop using quality materials and careful craftsmanship.
Each step of the build focuses on strength, durability, and highlighting the natural beauty of the wood.
⸻
Step 5 – Installation or Delivery
Once the piece is complete, we schedule installation or delivery.
The finished piece is carefully installed or delivered so it fits securely and complements the space it was designed for.
⸻
Built to Last
The goal of every project is to create something that adds warmth, beauty, and character to your home.
Each piece is built with care and designed to stand the test of time.
